Two words say it all here – Frankie Knuckles. He’s played a pivotal role in the creation and evolution of house music, and many refer to him as the Godfather of House. During his legendary Warehouse residency in 1970’s and 80’s in Chicago, people referred to the music Frankie was playing as “warehouse music” and that ultimately was shortened to “house music” – a term that’s stuck until this very day. The list of accomplishments go on and on, including the first recipient of a Grammy for Remixer of the Year, a street in Chicago named Frankie Knuckles Way, working with names such as Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Diana Ross and countless others, as well as devoting the power of his celebrity to help various AIDS charity events and children’s organizations. And to top it all off, he’s a part of the mighty Def Mix family. Enjoy the mix!!!
